Metals and Minerals – Keys to the Green Transition

The green transition requires increased access to various strategic metals and minerals. The pandemic and the Ukraine war, in particular, have highlighted the vulnerability of today’s value chains. Today, countries outside Europe control essential parts of these.

IVA is now launching the Roadmap for Metals and Minerals project. The project’s main question is how Sweden and Europe can sustainably secure the supply of essential metals and minerals for the green transition. Supply in Europe is good, but the road to extraction is long and full of challenges.

On Friday, March 17, IVA invites you to a launch seminar where the open seminar Metals and minerals: keys to the green transition begins 10:00 – 12:00. Participants at the seminar include Rod Eggert, vice-chairman Critical Minerals Institute, Peter Handley, Head of Unit, DG GROW, EC, Peter Buchholz, head of DERA, Matti Hietanen, CEO Finnish Metal Group, Ibrahim Baylan, ex. Minister of Industry and Maria Sunér, CEO of Svemin. The seminar is moderated by Erika Ingvald, SGU.

The seminar takes place at IVA Konferenscenter, Grev Turegatan 16, Stockholm and will also be streamed online at iva.se
